Overview: Audio/visual equipment is available for use and checkout by eligible cardholders. The library's Audio/Visual Equipment Collection features laptop computers, portable CD/Cassette players, DVD players, eReaders, and digital audio players. The Audio/Visual Equipment Collection was created to assist library patrons with accessing digital content through multi-platforms.

Borrowing Policy of the Library’s Audio/Visual Equipment Collection:
· Some Audio/Visual Equipment, such as laptops, may be used only inside the Library building.
· Limits on borrowing Audio/Visual Equipment items are established and strictly enforced in order to provide wide access to expensive, popular items.
· Eligible cardholders may reserve and checkout items from the Audio/Visual Equipment Collection in their own name only - identification may be requested.
· Any overdue Audio/Visual Equipment Collection items will be considered lost items and replacement charges may apply.
· Items must be returned to the reference desk, with a staff member checking in the item. Out of consideration for the fragility of the equipment, items are NOT to be placed in the library’s drop boxes.
· For assistance with making a reservation, please consult a library staff person by calling the reference desk at 378-2798.

| CD/Cassette Players: |
San Juan Island Library circulates two CD/Cassette players that play music CDs, audio book CDs, and cassettes. The players come with a power cord. “AA”batteries and headphones are NOT provided. CD/Cassette players may be borrowed for up to three weeks at a time. |
| DVD Players: |
The library has three portable DVD players for check-out. Each player comeswith a power supply and/or battery pack. DVD players may be borrowed for a one-week period. |
| eReaders (Kindle & Nook): |
There are two types of eReaders for check-out. One is a Kindle and the otheritem is a Nook. Both eReaders come preloaded with current best-seller and classic titles. Each eReader includes a re-chargeable battery supply cord andbasic instructions. The library’s eReaders are treated the same as books andmay be checked out for up to three weeks. |
| Sansa Digital Audio Player: |
The 2 GB Sansa Digital Audio players play a variety of audio files—MP3, WMA,Secure WMA, and podcasts. Each player also comes with a rechargeable batterypacks that lasts up to 15 hours. Headphones are not provided. All content remaining on the players will be removed when the item is checked in. The Sansa player may be borrowed for up to three weeks. |

5 Dell Laptop computers are available for patrons with library cards for in-library use only. Power adapters are available. |
